We are incredibly grateful to have been asked to share our music at the very special DiscoveryBound’s 20th Anniversary for all-ages at Jetty Park on March 24-26, 2023! I felt fortunate to escape my wintery home in Fairbanks, Alaska to join a beautiful weekend with amazing weather. We shared a campsite with over 46 other Christian Scientists, kayaked with 64 friends among manatees, dolphins and an alligator, then had a BBQ with 100 friends! Matthew and I shared songs from our recently released album Love Only Grows and successfully shared one microphone due to mortal mind’s technical difficulties! The weekend was fun, rich with inspiration and camaraderie. It was nice to gather with all ages from the state of Florida as well as visitors who moved elsewhere only to come back for this 20th anniversary. It was so special meeting new friends and seeing ones outside of their CS Camp!
The Metaphysical Theme for the weekend was: “Music is the harmony of being; but the music of Soul affords the only strains that thrills the chords of feeling and awakens the heart’s harpstrings.” – MW 106: 28-30
We sang outside in the beautiful evening sun and warm wind. There is great joy and healing in singing our prayers together! It was fun to hear from individuals representing 6 different Christian Science Camps. We heard from Christine Bailey (A/U Ranches), Kaetlyn Allen (CedarS), Alex Kamau (Crystal Lake Camps), Ben Greenman (Camps Leelanua & Kohahna), Mary Rankin (Camps Newfound & Owatonna), and Kaki Green explained how the Campership Fund allows camp to be accessible to anyone who feels burdened financially.
